# Send a test to a channel

`POST /v1/channels/{id}/test`

## Parameters

- `id` (path, required): Channel id (dest_...).
- `idempotency-key` (header): A unique value (a UUID) for this request. Retrying with the same key within 24 hours returns the first response instead of creating twice.

## Responses

- 200: A test message was attempted on the channel (webhooks receive event "test")
- 401: Missing or invalid API key
- 404: Channel not found
