# Reddit

Reddit posts naming your keyword, in any subreddit.

Mentio searches Reddit posts for your keyword as a phrase, newest first, across every subreddit.

## What a mention carries

* `post.text`: the title, the post's text, and the subreddit it was posted in.
* `author`: the username and profile link. A deleted account has none.

The rest is the same on every platform: relevance, sentiment and intent from the classifier, your triage, and the keyword it matched. See the [mention shape](/api).

## Mute an author

`reddit.com/user/name`, `u/name`, or a handle. A subreddit or a post link names no person and is refused. See [Mute authors](/alerts#mute-authors).

## Limits

* Comments are not searched: Reddit's search covers posts only.
* A link post matches on its title and subreddit, since it has no text.
* Workspace filters can restrict matching to some subreddits, or leave some out.
